PITCHER PERFORMANCE:

STAMINA:

Stamina is wasted with every pitch and also when the pitcher SWINGS the bat when batting (very cool, lol). When there is runner(s) on base, and when starters are pitching after the 7th inning, it will also take up more stamina.

This is how the game calcuates a pitcher's total stamina:

Pitcher's Stamina number X 32 + see condition bonus below + Starter bonus (big font + 1500, small font + 1200, not starter compatible = 0)

Condition bonus for starters : very happy + 800, happy + 400, normal + 0, sad face - 400, very sad - 800
Condition bonus for relievers: very happy + 480, happy + 240, normal +0, sad face - 400, very sad - 800

COMPATIBILITY BONUS:

When you look at a pitcher's attribute screen, next to his ERA you can see his role compatibility. There are 3 possible japanese characters you see - Starter, Reliever, and Closer. They will also appear as a big font or small font. Big font means 'Best Role', small font means 'OK', and if it doesn't show a role, that means he is not compatible at all. In the image above you can see this pitcher's best role is Starting Pitcher and he's an ok middle reliever.

- Big Font Starter is starting = No change in attributes, + 1500 stamina
- Big Font Reliever in relief= No change in attributes
- Big font Closer in closing situation = No change in attributes

- Small Font Starter starting = Fastball 1 arrow down, control 1 arrow down, + 1200 stamina
- Small Font Reliever in relief = Control 1 arrow down (2 down in late but not final innings), breaking ball 1 level down (breaking balls with 4 levels or above will be affected)
- Small font closer closing = Control 2 arrows down, breaking ball 1 level down (for breaking balls with level 4 or above)

- Pitcher w/o starter compatibility is starting = Fastball 2 arrows down, control 4 arrows down, no condition bonus will be added to stamina
- Pitcher w/o reliever compatibility relieving = control 2 arrows down (3 down in late but not final innings), breaking ball 2 levels down (breaking balls will not drop below level 1)
- Pitcher w/o closer compatibility closing = Control 3 arrows down, breaking ball 2 levels down (will not drop below 1)

So the lesson here is stick with what the pitcher's role is
