BATTER ATTRIBUTES:
PLAYER ABILITIES (TAB #1):This is Hawks infielder Yuichi Honda. Note this page is identical to Tab #3 (Hitting Abilities) which we'll exclude in this section. Tabs at top: Player Abilities - Pitching Abilities - Hitting Abilities - Other Information 1 - Other Information 2 TOP LEFT AREA: - Player name (in yellow) / Team Logo / Jersey Number (46). - Batting Stance - The Japanese words and the #79 on this page is this player's batting stance - Standard Form, #79. Batting forms are separated into standard, open, close stance and so on. - Right Throws & Left Bats (Switch hitters will have a short horizontal line at the top, followed by a big box underneath with some more strokes inside the box.) - Batting Avg (.305), Home Runs (0), RBI's (43) The colored letters and letter inside the baseball diamond represent:
* Trajectory ranges from 1 to 4. The higher the number, the bigger the flyball you can hit. For example, a slugger with a high trajectory & power rating can hit high flyballs and would be a serious homerun threat. BOTTOM AREA: This displays the special skills the player possesses. The top 2 rows are fixed skills in which every player will be rated. If this skill is shaded it just means he has a normal, medium rating of 3. If the skill is in bold then he's either positive (blue 4 or 5) or negative (red 1 or 2). In rows 3-6 you can see his positive (blue) and negative (red) skills. Note there are a couple skils that are both positve and negative, so it will have a split blue & red color. For further details please view the 'Special Skills' pages. Defensive ratings are very important because it's heavily emphasised in this game. For example, if you have a 3B with a poor defensive rating, line drives and hard hit shots will just shoot by him before you even have a chance to move. This will cost you a lot of extra base hits down the left field line. Same thing for outfielders. If you have someone with a 'D' or below grade in center field, I'm afraid you won't get to a lot of flyballs that would be caught by a better rated outfielder. Bottom line: PLEASE SUB IN YOUR DEFENSIVE SPECIALISTS IN THE LATE INNINGS! |
