HOW TO READ PITCHER ATTRIBUTES:
PLAYER ABILITIES: (TAB #1)Tabs at top: Player Abilities - Pitching Abilities - Hitting Abilities - Other Information 1 - Other Information 2 This is Hawks pitcher Hiroki Yamada. Note this page is identical to Tab #2 (Pitching Abilities) which we'll exclude in this section. TOP LEFT AREA: - Player Name (in red) / Team Logo / Jersey Number (34). - Pitching Motion: Three Quarter motion #14 / Left Throws & Left Bats (Switch hitters will have a short horizontal line at the top, followed by a big box underneath with some more strokes inside the box.) - ERA (2.85) / Pitchers Role Compatibility (Starter). There can be up to 3 text characters here (to the right of the light blue text box). Starter, Reliever, and Closer. They will also appear as a big font or small font. Big font means "best role", small font means "ok" and if it doesn't show a role that means he is not compatible at all. - Pitch Speed: 145 km/h or 90 mph (1 km/h = .62 mph) GRAPHIC AT TOP RIGHT: This shows the direction & break of each pitch (from the batters perspective). The two lines of text at the top says that he has a "Fastball" & "2-Seam Fastball". He also has a slider with good movement and a changeup with a little bit of movement. In order to translate the pitch type text please see the 'Pitch Types' Page. BOTTOM AREA: This displays the special skills the player possesses. The top 2 rows are fixed skills in which every player will be rated. If the skill is shaded it means he has a normal, medium rating of 3. If the skill is in bold then he's either positive (blue 4 or 5) or negative (red 1 or 2). In rows 3-6 you can see his positive (blue) and negative (red) Special Skills. Note: there is a couple that are both positive & negative, these will have a split blue & red color. For further details please view the 'Special Skills' pages. |
HITTING ABILITIES (TAB #3):* Not much useful info to see here since Yamada is a pitcher. See the "Batter Attributes" page for further details. - Player Name (in red) / Team Logo / Jersey Number (34). - Batting Form: Standard Form #9) / Left Throws & Left Bats - Batting Avg (.250) / HR's (0) / RBI's (1)
* Trajectory ranges from 1 to 4. The higher the number, the bigger the flyball you can hit. For example, a slugger with a high trajectory & power rating can hit high flyballs and would be a serious homerun threat. |
