PITCHER ROLES:

Pitchers are assigned one role, for example "Use in close game." In this section you can move pitchers around - the top section is starters, middle relievers and bottom is closers. You can also use the D-pad to highlight their current chosen player role (green bar) and change it. For translations see the special skills section / player roles page.

HITTER ROLES:

For simming only. In this section you can choose multiple player roles...

Top left to right:

  • Pinch Hit Specialist (can have 2 max on team)
  • Pinch Run Specialist
  • Defense Specialist
  • Will often be substituted for mid-game

BATTING ORDER:

Set your lineup for...

  • OK
  • With DH
  • With DH, VS Lefty
  • No DH
  • No DH, VS Lefty
  • Copy
  • Cancel

During editing if you see a little lock icon next to a name that means you've chosen them to bat in that spot for good and the CPU will not mess around with your lineup in those spots. The blue #1 o r# 2 means this player is on your major league roster (1-roster) or your minor league (2-roster)

ROTATION:

You can change the order of turn for the pitchers in your rotation. To the right is month, day and day of week. For example spot #1 is starting on April 14 and the blue is a special color for saturday (red = Sunday)

WINNING FORMULA:

For sim only, you can tell the computer how to use your pitchers at the end of the game. Unfortunately the guide does not elaborate on this. We'll just have to assume...

Pattern A: 7th inning man --> Setup man --> closer,

Pattern B: Is stated in the guide book as Relief Pitcher 1 or 2, so i guess the guy with better condition or more energy will throw the 8th, then hand it to the closer.

Pattern C: Setup man --> Closer

Note: You can pick only one "Winning Formula"

TEAM STRATEGY (SIM ONLY):

  • Lineup making (balance, attack, defense, based on condition)
  • Use of Bunt (Normal, a lot, little)
  • Squeeze (Normal, a lot, little)
  • Hit and Run (Normal, a lot, little)
