ABOUT SCOUTS:

Now for Scouts. You have a Draft Scout, and an International Scout. They each have 2 letter grades:

  • Discovery (left): The higher the grade, the faster and more players he will find.
  • Investigation (right): The higher the letter, the more accurate his assessment of the player will be.

These are both pretty important IMO because the scout might report a guy to have ratings of "DDCCC" but if his investigation grade is low those attributes might be way off when you finally acquire the player.

To the right are 3 boxes:

  • Area of specialty: Is he good at finding pitchers, catchers, high schoolers, university students, etc, etc.
  • Yearly salary
  • Number of years on your team.

 

SEASON MENU SCREEN (TRADING & SCOUTING):

In this section we'll show you how to instruct your Draft Scout to search for an adult, switch-hitting first baseman with good power. You will not be notified of the result immediately. Instead, there will be an announcement after a game in the near future which will display his findings.

First select from the options on left:

- Trade
- Draft Scout
- International Scout
- Add original player (from success mode)

 

MAIN MENU:

- OK
- Post request (choosing this option will delete any players that are currently available to sign)
- Sign
- Delete from list

SCOUTS REPORT:

When your international scout finds a new foreigner, you can check out his stats from the menu. Here we have a 2nd baseman who bats & throws right, and our scout believes 1-trajectory, E contact, D power, and E for speed, arm, and defense. Keep in mind this is only as accurate as your scout's Investigation rating.

He is 27 years old and he hit .233/7HR/35RBI in his last professional year. It takes $3000 to sign him and $1000 for a 1 year salary so if you hire him it will cost you $4000 in total. 

On the left side the options are 

OK (finish viewing, you won't make a decision about the player)
